IMPROVE THE GREEN STAR RATING OF YOUR PROPERTIES

The Green Star is an internationally recognised rating system awarded by the Green Building Council Of Australia. Buildings are awarded 1-6 green stars based on their environmental and green practices. Solar energy is one of the best ways to improve your green star rating. Tenants are much more attracted to green buildings because they are so much cheaper for tenants to operate with green buildings using on average 66% less electricity. Reduced operating costs are much more attractive for both commercial and residential tenants.

Energus have saved many of its customers 10's of thousands of

dollars each year. A study found that a typical firm operating from a 5-star green star office at 5000 square metres can save $18,200 a year in energy costs. Energus have helped a community centre save over $20,000 per year, and the Australian National Maritime Museum, over $55,000 per year.

Commercial Real Estate summarises that commercial renters should be asking about the green star rating of buildings before committing to a commercial tenancy and to actively ask agents about the green buildings they have available for lease.

For property groups and landlords, not committing to a green star certification for your properties is a sure way to fall behind in maintaining your properties value and attracting the right and long term tenants for your properties and cash flow.

"IT'S EASY TO UNDERESTIMATE THE PRODUCTIVITY BENEFITS A GREEN BUILDING CAN DELIVER, BUT THEY ARE REAL AND POWERFUL"

AN INVESTMENT FOR YOUR INVESTMENT(S)

Solar energy can improve the environmental rating and value of your building. Free energy is a substantial (and can be a zero-cost) reduction in energy costs for tenants and landlords. Coupled with a lower carbon footprint, solar can make your property more attractive to tenants. On average, there's a 2.5 year payback and customers are cash flow positive through the process. Solar performance is guaranteed for 25 years with little to no maintenance.

ADD VALUE TO YOUR PROPERTY

Solar power has two main benefits for your property: it increases the value of your property as well as reducing your energy bills considerably. Energy efficiency is a component to consider in the property value matrix to ensure your property asset is well maintained to hold its value. There is a positive relationship between the number of solar panels on the roofs of properties and the dollar value of the home. It's estimated that each killowatt of solar energy adds $6000 to the value of your home - that's a whopping $60,000 increase for a 10Kw solar energy installation.

PROPERTY VALUE MATRIX

ATTRACT MORE TENANTS, CHARGE MORE IN RENT

Australians love solar and energy is such an important part of any persons life. Reducing energy costs are extremely attractive to both residential and commercial renters who will certainly pay more for a property with solar panels. Commercial renters will love the massive reduction in operating costs and residential renters will love having extra money in their pocket. Research tells us that Australians prefer homes with solar installations. Make your home more attractive, rent it out faster, more often and charge more in rent. An increase in rental income for you, means solar energy can increase profit from your rental property.
